Women's Bible Study

Each Saturday at 10:30 a.m. we gather at Green Oaks Senior Living in Libertyville to study and share together. Anyone interested in joining us, please contact Gayle Heatherington at [email protected]. All are welcome!
We are beginning a study of Genesis chapter one, "Heaven and Earth," led by Dr. Tim Mackie of The Bible Project. This is a video series with expert teaching. https://bibleproject.com/classroom/overview/heaven-and-earth-genesis-1/ Previous studies have been Ephesians, Philippians, The Parables of Jesus (taught by Dean Garwood Anderson of Nashotah House via video), A Sacred Sorrow by Michael Card looking at imprecatory Psalms, Job, Habakkuk, a Lenten study with meditations of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, 1Peter, Malachi, Job and Introduction to the Hebrew Bible, Creation by Tim Mackey and the Bible Project via video, and currently the book of Matthew. |

A festival of Lessons and Carols - December 23, 2023
STANDING ROOM ONLY
Our Lessons and Carols service was standing room only on Saturday night, December 23rd. There were late comers who had to sit in the balcony with the choir and some who stood in the back of the church because there was no place left to sit downstairs.
A beautiful service was appreciated by all. Our choir of 18 singers, harp and keyboard (pictured below) brought glory to God in telling the Christmas story in Word and music along with excellent lay readers.

Group Night at Ravinia
Nashotah House Alumni luncheon
On Saturday, June 24th, we hosted a presentation by the Dean of Nashotah House Theological Seminary, Dr. Garwood Anderson, at the American Legion Post in Libertyville. After a delicious lunch catered by Maggiano's Italian Restaurant, Dr. Anderson gave a very interesting and informative presentation of the state of theological education today and where Nashotah House fits in the overall picture. We were inspired to continue to support the work of this great institution as they train future clergy in the orthodox faith.
