A festival of Lessons and Carols - December 23rd at 7:00 p.m.
In 1918 the Festival of Lessons and Carols was adapted from the original 1880 version for King’s College, Cambridge. The popularity of this service was established when it began to be broadcast by the BBC in 1928, and, except for 1930, it has been broadcast every year since.
The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short readings from Genesis, Isaiah and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols and choir anthems. Hear the angelic voice of soprano Michelle Areyzaga sing “O Holy Night” and baritone Keven Keys as he sings “Joseph's Carol” by John Rutter. They are joined by the Grace Anglican Fellowship choir, Lyudmila Lakisova on keyboard, Julie Spring on harp and conducted by Fr. Alan Heatherington. You will love the music of Philip Stopford, Will Todd, John Rutter, and others with congregational singing of your favorite carols: Silent Night, Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus, Away in a Manger, and O Come All Ye Faithful. |

PAST EVENTS:
All-Church Picnic 2023
Group Night at Ravinia
Nashotah House Alumni luncheon
On Saturday, June 24th, we hosted a presentation by the Dean of Nashotah House Theological Seminary, Dr. Garwood Anderson, at the American Legion Post in Libertyville. After a delicious lunch catered by Maggiano's Italian Restaurant, Dr. Anderson gave a very interesting and informative presentation of the state of theological education today and where Nashotah House fits in the overall picture. We were inspired to continue to support the work of this great institution as they train future clergy in the orthodox faith.
All-Church Picnic - Labor Day 2022
Thanks to our hosts, Rick and Vija Navarro and all those who provided food, drinks and games for the children, our first annual Labor Day picnic was a huge success. Enjoy the photos.
