Great is your Faith!

Matthew 15:21-28/Romans 11:13-24

Why does Jesus seem to reject the Canaanite woman—and even compare her to a dog—before praising her extraordinary faith? What initially appears to be one of the more troubling encounters in the Gospels becomes, when read in the light of Scripture, a remarkable demonstration of faith. The woman understands God’s ancient promise to bring the nations into His family, and she trusts Jesus as the Messiah who will fulfil it. Her story points us toward a wonderful truth: through faith in Jesus Christ, people from every nation are welcomed into the one people of God.
