Great stories and symphonies move us because they awaken a longing deep within the human heart—a longing for victory, glory, love, and transcendence. The Ascension of Jesus Christ offers a true and greater fulfilment of those longings: the risen King entering into glory, taking His throne in heaven, and opening the way for His people to share in His kingdom forever.
The Ascension means that Jesus Christ now reigns over all things. He intercedes for us before the Father, holds authority over every fear and struggle we face, and sends us into the world with purpose and hope. Far from being the end of the story, the Ascension marks the beginning of the Church’s mission as we await the return of our King.
