 Throughout the Old Testament, Israel was described as God’s vine—planted, cultivated, and loved, yet so often fruitless. Then Jesus stands before His disciples and declares: “I am the True Vine.” In these words, He reshapes the entire story of God’s people around Himself. Here is a call to abide in Christ, to accept the pruning that comes with discipleship, and to discover the deep joy that flows from remaining close to Him.
